Zumba Fitness

Our fitness dance classes are for everyone; you need no dancing or fitness experience, because our lessons are designed for all people, regardless of their age, weight, or physique. It is not at all important to perfectly follow the movements shown by the instructor, as they only provide “inspiration”. You can move as you wish, according to how you feel at the moment. During a lesson, you will not even realize that you are exercising. There is no need to think about any complicated footwork – you will enjoy yourself like at a dance party!

Our fitness dance classes are like an aerobics option for people who do not like to run, gym or do cardio exercises. Cardiovascular exercises are performed to hot music using various traditional dance steps or choreographed routines combining traditional, Latin, Bollywood  or modern dance steps with cardio moves. So are you ready to party yourself into shape? That is exactly what our fitness dance classes are all about. Burn calories with a heart-pumping dance music, ditch the workout and join the party!

ZUMBA FITNESS

Zumba is a popular Latin dance-inspired fitness program that involves dance and aerobic elements. The word “Zumba” comes from a Colombian word that means to move fast and have fun, which is just how people describe the routine. Zumba exercises include using upbeat Latin music from a variety of dance styles – salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco, cha cha, reggaeton, samba, belly dancing, hip hop music, tango, etc. It is an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that is moving millions of people toward joy and health. If you enjoy high energy, motivating music, and like to try unique moves and combinations, Zumba may be your ticket to fitness!

NEWBIE TIPS

Beginners and students of all fitness levels and sizes are welcome in our classes. There are no wrong moves in a Zumba class — as long as you’re moving and keeping your heart rate up, you’re doing it right! Students should come to class with an open mind and be ready to sweat, move, and shake their body!

New students may want to arrive to class a few minutes early and let their instructor know they’re a newbie, so that he or she can provide any additional cues during the class.

Most new students tend to stand in the back, but we would recommend standing near the front or in a spot that has a good view of the instructor. It typically takes a student 3-4 classes to get used to the instructor’s movements and routines. Different instructors do have their own unique styles, so it’s important to try out a few to find one that jives with you.

What to Wear?

Come dressed in comfortable fitness attire that is easy to move in and can handle sweat. Wear clean sneakers that support dance movement — good shoes can include cross trainers, dance sneakers, or even running shoes. Students need to bring in their clean shoes separately as we do not allow outdoor shoes into the studio space for hygiene purposes. Students should also bring water and a towel.

How Often Should You Take Zumba?

For newbie, starting out once a week first would be a good start for you to get used with your schedule and time management. When you starts to pick up the momentum and stamina, you might want to consider twice or thrice a week classes to build strength and endurance. However, like any fitness program, it is good to balance out cardio classes with stretching (such as Yoga), and rest days.

Will Zumba Help You Lose Weight?

Because Zumba is an intense cardio workout, it can help a person lose weight as well as increase muscle tone. However, proper diet and nutrition is also an important part of any weight loss program — you can’t out-dance a bad diet!
