Aerial Class

Come fly with us in our aerial class! Gain strength and flexibility while you learn to climb and create beautiful shapes in our aerial classes. Whether you are new to the air or have been training for years, we have classes to meet your skill level!

DancePot offers Aerial Yoga, Aerial Hoop (Lyra), Aerial Dance and Bungee Fitness with experienced professional instructors. Our Aerial classes utilize the benefits of gravity, core balance and body weight training as compared to the usual yoga classes, making it a rewarding and fun exercise.

PREPARATIONS FOR AERIAL CLASS

  • To protect the hammock from ripping and also to protect injuring yourself, DO NOT wear any watch, jewelry, earrings, necklace, any protruding piercing.
  • Wear fitted clothing that covers the armpits and long leggings to protect your skin from becoming sore when it rubs against the hammock.
  • Yoga mat for floor postures

AERIAL YOGA CLASS

Aerial Yoga uses a fabric hammock to provide support for a total body conditioning and stretching activities with low stress on joints. Aerial Yoga teaches coordination, concentration and takes yoga poses to a new level. It makes challenging poses easier to achieve for those who have difficulties with traditional yoga progressions.

 

Level: Beginner
Duration: 1 hour per class
Requirements: No experience necessary

AERIAL DANCE CLASS

Aerial Dance is still a relatively unknown artform. Aerial Dance incorporates a hammock attached to the ceiling, allowing performers to explore space while floating on air. Combining athleticism and creative expression, Aerial Dance provides a full body work out. Students experience the grace and beauty of this art form, while having fun and building strength!

AERIAL HOOP (LYRA) 1

The Aerial Hoop or also known as Lyra, uses a circular steel ring that provides the perfect frame for your acrobatic moves. Class space is limited, so each student will have plenty of individualized attention as they build strength, flexibility, and a vocabulary of Lyra skills and transitions. The Aerial Hoop requires a skillful balance of strength, stamina and flexibility, something which you will progressively work on during the class. As with any aerial skill, the core muscles are essential in being able to execute moves with confidence.

BUNGEE FITNESS

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work out anti-gravity or walking around with trampolines on your feet, give Bungee Fitness a try. Bungee Fitness is a low-impact, high-intensity cardio workout that has you flying in the air and diving to the ground. The chord is pulling you up so your job is to keep it down and to do that you use a lot of core and legs.
