INTRO TO BELLY DANCE

This class introduces you to the amazing world of belly dance! You will learn the history, terminology, basic movements, isolation and rhythms that apply to all forms of belly dance. The emphasis is on building a strong foundation of movement from which a belly dancer can grow to the next level. Instructions are presented in an easy-to-follow format, which includes technique breakdown, drills, combination sets and personalized pointers – all designed to help you apply the movements you learn in class. Learn to express your inner goddess in a safe, supportive class designed for everyone, regardless of shape and age.

BELLY DANCE 1

This class is for graduates of the “Intro” class who are ready to take it to the next level. We will be reviewing, drilling and perfecting all the moves and studying new movements weekly. In this level, you will learn to travel, layer movements and introduced to a more complex set of new movements to increase coordination and precision. The main focus is to take your dancing to the next level by teaching your muscle memory to perform various movements at once, such as traveling with a twisting shimmy while doing a grapevine with a basic Arabic step. Your ability to do these movements will catapult your belly dancing skills from a beginner level into the intermediate realm, where doing multiple layered movements is standard.

Requirements: Requires basic belly dance techniques and permission of the instructor
